ADP Solutions for Payroll, Workers’ Compensation and Employee Handbooks Hit ‘The Spot’ for Local Restaurateur

ADP Solutions for Payroll, Workers’ Compensation and Employee Handbooks Hit ‘The Spot’ for Local Restaurateur

Ever since she was a teenager, Cassie Fishkin dreamed of owning a restaurant – a comfortable, informal little place where people could gather for long conversations and healthy food. She told herself it would be her “retirement” career after she’d succeeded as an attorney. She never imagined her passion to be a restaurateur would outweigh her desire to practice law. Once she’d made that life-changing decision, however, Fishkin bought into a restaurant partnership and began honing a new set of skills. She rotated through every position, learning the nuances and challenges of restaurant management. She combined her business acumen and creativity, and realized that she’d finally found her professional niche. In 2015, she also realized her dream when she opened the doors of her bistro, The Spot, in Montclair, N.J. At first catering to walk-in, take-out and delivery business, the restaurant grew to accommodate patrons who wanted to sit and linger over their meals. Growing Producer of Natural Pet Snacks, Pet ‘n Shape, Says Using ADP for Payroll, Retirement Services and Time Tracking is a Real ‘Treat’

During the past decade, the number of people pursuing a natural food lifestyle has continued to multiply. Additives, dyes, biological and technological tinkering with how food is grown, processed, packaged and sold, all are being increasingly scrutinized. Foods with labels displaying a litany of unpronounceable ingredients are falling out of favor. Not surprisingly, those shoppers who yearn for the oft-touted benefits of natural, home-grown fare are extending their standards to the foods they buy for their pets. Twelve years ago, that’s the niche Pet ‘n Shape® – a California-based producer of natural, healthy dog treats and chews – set out to fill. What began as a one-man, one-car trek to retailers, trade shows and distributors in California, Arizona, and Nevada has burgeoned into a successful brand serving online and brick and mortar retail outlets nationwide. Pet ‘n Shape offers more than 40 varieties of pet treats and chews made from natural chicken, turkey, lamb, pork and beef, satisfying one of the fastest growing categories within the pet industry. But...

Ditching Paper For Plastic? Consider These Five Steps to Get Started

By Normia Arteaga, Director Wage Payments Solutions & Marketing, ADP Given the growing popularity of electronic payroll, many companies are evaluating the potential cost savings and flexibility that methods such as direct deposit and payroll cards might deliver to their workforce. These electronic pay methods can reduce the cost of printing and shipping checks and help limit liabilities caused by lost or stolen checks and fraud. For payroll administrators, increasing their electronic pay adoption can also mean a huge time savings because they no longer have to chase down and reconcile lost or stolen checks. What’s the benefit for employees? According to a Visa® and ADP® study on the ALINE Card by ADP® ¹, 93 percent of payroll card holders said one of the most valuable reasons for having a payroll card was Visa acceptance for purchases and bill payment. Additionally, 92 percent said they valued having immediate access to their pay and 90 percent said they valued the 24/7 account management ability. With payroll cards, employees don’t need...
