ADP Announces Acquisition of Global Cash Card, Strengthening Payroll Offering with Enhanced Digital Accounts and Financial Planning Tools

ADP has been helping organizations build better workforces for more than 65 years, the foundation of which is ensuring that employees are paid seamlessly and conveniently. Today, ADP is strengthening and expanding its employee payroll offer by acquiring Global Cash Card, a leader in digital payments, including paycards and other electronic accounts. We are excited to welcome our new Global Cash Card colleagues to the ADP family! The digital payment space is an exciting one for the future of payroll. Paycards are the fastest growing method of payment in recent years, with the estimated value of Form 1099 transactions now ranging between $700 billion and $1.1 trillion. ADP Byline on Employee Benefits Advisor: Easing Concerns of ‘Unbanked’ Employees

Employee Benefit Adviser has posted a byline article from ADP SME Aldor H. Delp titled, “Easing Concerns of Unbanked Employees,” which explores the challenges to HR and payroll leaders to accommodate the needs of unbanked and underbanked employees. In this article, Delp points out that nearly 16 million consumers in the U.S. are “unbanked,” which means no one in the household where they live has a checking or savings account, according to a recent Forbes article. Add to that, there are more than 50 million U.S. adults, according to Forbes, who are considered “underbanked” because banking services may be complex, expensive, or difficult to access for them, or a bank account may be too expensive to open. Benefits and payroll leaders trying to accommodate the needs of these employees can experience a real challenge. One solution is a payroll card, which can provide a tremendous amount of flexibility to unbanked and underbanked employees and help employers more efficiently and securely pay them. But sometimes administering payroll card programs can be a bit cumbersome and time-consuming for employers because it requires them to toggle between a few online administration tools. That’s all changed for employers that offer the ALINE Card. To help improve the payroll card administration experience for its clients, ADP® has moved key functions of the ALINE Card into the ADP SmartCompliance platform. Previously, employers that offered the card to their employees had to manage the ALINE Card or the fully electronic pay solution, ALINE Pay by ADP®, through the Visa® Prepaid Administration Tool (PAT). To help streamline the electronic payroll process, ADP has moved core PAT functions, such as enrollment, funding, inventory management and reporting to ADP SmartCompliance. Specifically, employers now can use...
