HRE Daily features ADP’s Ahu Yildirmaz: Thinking Like an Economist

HRE Daily wrote a recent article about incorporating analytics into hiring and HR practices, featuring Ahu Yildirmaz, Co-Head of the ADP Research Institute®. According to workforce industry economists speaking at a session titled “The Real Economics of HR Technology: Using Big Data to Drive HR Decision Making” during the HR Tech Conference on October 11th, you don’t need to be a tech giant to incorporate analytics into your hiring and HR practices. In fact, employers that aren’t using analytics to improve recruiting and other aspects of people management put themselves at a distinct disadvantage. A tight labor market that is intensifying competition for workers, technological innovation, the evolution of how work gets done and changing labor demographics make it imperative to plan for the future, and analytics are the best way to do that, economists said. “CHROs have to think like economists, not just CHROs, but the entire C-suite should be using data to understand how best to allocate talent resources to optimize their workforce and increase margins,” said...

ADP Takes Home ‘Top HR Products’ Award For Record-Breaking Third Straight Year with Compass

ADP Takes Home ‘Top HR Products’ Award For Record-Breaking Third Straight Year with Compass

It’s no secret that great leadership is key to business success. But oftentimes, leadership development tools only provide employees with feedback which is not enough to drive change: They need action plans. With this in mind, ADP® created CompassSM, a next-generation 360 growth tool designed to boost employees’ leadership and collaboration behaviors. Compass was designed for leaders and teams to quickly identify unproductive and derailing behaviors and treat them via feedback and personalized, automated coaching. This talent activation solution is extremely easy to implement and use with no disruption to business. It requires no software to install, no integration, no training, no sign up, and no sign in. It puts tools into the employees’ hands and is built for how humans want to use technology. As a result, the solution has demonstrated quantifiable improvement in leadership behaviors that were identified and coached by Compass in a three month period. Further, the assessment requires only minutes of time investment from each leader or collaborator. The solution recently earned the attention...

Asia-Pacific HR Leaders Bring a Zeal for Excellence to First HR Tech China Conference

Asia-Pacific HR Leaders Bring a Zeal for Excellence to First HR Tech China Conference

I’ve been proud to be a participant in the growth of ADP’s Asia-Pacific region since I first came here in 2013.  It’s been exciting to watch as our growth has mirrored the strides of other businesses that operate in this fascinating corner of the world. So when nearly 2,500 HR professionals met in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai to attend the HR Technology Conference and Exposition, I couldn’t wait to discover what they considered the hottest topics in human capital management (HCM). This was the first time HR Tech, a fixture conference in the United States, was conducted in Asia.  And Zhuhai – a ferryboat ride from Hong Kong – seemed to be the ideal place to hold it.  Transformed into one of China’s first Special Economic Zones in 1980, today Zhuhai is known for modern icons of prosperity like golf resorts and theme parks – and, of course, a growing business community. China has been growing steadily for more than a decade, recently “slowing” to still rapid...

Ideas, Hacks, and Cupcakes – HR Technology Conference Wrap Up!

It’s a wrap! We’re thoroughly inspired after all the innovation and excitement we experienced at the HR Technology Conference in Las Vegas last week. It’s safe to say anyone attending came away a big winner! From sharing our expertise in HCM to celebrating one year of the ADP Marketplace, here are just some of the high-rolling HR Tech highlights. ADP’s Matt Herman, Hadar Yacobovitz, Michael Lubow and Serafin Vazquez (pictured below, clockwise from left) represented ADP by competing in the HR Tech Hackathon. The team had just 48 hours to come up with an HR solution that touched on three areas: Culture: How to communicate, define or enforce Strategy: How to create, define and execute a talent/HR strategy Talent: How to raise the overall talent level of the organization. The team presented its solution, Wingit, which provided a place where leaders could solicit ideas from their employees, gain support for their concept, and eventually bring the idea through creation and execution.   It was clear from a series of...
