The buzz around HCM was hummin’ this week at ADP Meeting of the Minds 2016, where attendees’ focus has intensified around further innovations on the user experience, as well as on best practices in recruitment management that more deeply integrate with social media, profiling, hiring analytics and onboarding tools.   As I said in my last post, the theme of this year’s event in the Washington, D.C., area was “Build Your Capital.”  More than 1,400 HR leaders from large enterprises gathered to see how they can improve the user experience for their employees, while refining the processes they use to acquire, develop and retain talent.  Conferees used the event to network with and learn from each other.   They also took advantage of the nearly 200 educational sessions that were conducted.  Among some popular topics of interest were benefits solutions, the innovative use of application programming interfaces (APIs), data analytics, and veteran hiring, just to mention a few.   We also built on the success of last year’s conference,...

Have you considered migrating toward a consumer-directed health plan strategies in advance of the 2020 Excise Tax? You can also reinforce that smart benefits enrollment and administration are the keys to a successful program. Ask them: Have you considered the importance of...

ADP Meeting of the Minds 2016 Gives Clients the Tools to Build Knowledge, Networks and Capital

Talking to ADP clients is probably one of my favorite things to do. Our conversations always provide me with invaluable insights into their latest business challenges – down to those nagging concerns that keep them up at night. That’s why I especially look forward to this time of year when more than 1,400 ADP clients, professionals and business partners gather at the ADP Meeting of the Minds (MOTM) conference to exchange ideas, share success stories, and be inspired by knowledgeable speakers and industry experts. It’s during those exchanges that they tell us why it’s not easy being a global HR leader. As their roles continue to expand, they’re supporting employees across multiple geographies.  To do that effectively, they need to continue building skills to manage organizations, systems and technologies that support different cultures, regulatory environments, and compliance frameworks. Helping our clients meet these business challenges is why we’re proud to host ADP Meeting of the Minds 2016. It’s designed to offer a perfect learning and networking environment in which...

Electronic Time and Attendance: A Logical Step in Nonprofit’s Business Evolution

This article is authored by Louis Medina, outreach and advocacy manager for Community Action Partnership of Kern. Managing staff time and attendance, payroll and benefits for an 800- employee agency serving nine central California counties can be a daunting enterprise – especially if a lot of the work is done on paper. But transitioning seamlessly to a paperless Human Capital Management system can be just as challenging – unless the right resources and technology are in place. That is what Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) learned in the fall of 2015, when it successfully implemented ADP’s Workforce Now – an integrated HCM platform designed specifically for midsized businesses – under the leadership of CAPK’s Payroll and Human Resources Information Systems Manager Eric Kelley. It was a project that the agency had wanted to implement since around 2010, said Kelley, who came on board with CAPK just a little over a year ago. “Several sincere efforts at paperless time and attendance implementation were attempted,” he said. “However, such a...

Employers may gravitate to Private Exchanges for many reasons: you want to ‘outsource’ to experts the time consuming and expensive annual process of selecting and pricing benefits carriers and plans and obtain assistance with ACA regulatory compliance in an increasingly complicated environment. Or, you may want to help your employees become more value-conscious healthcare buyers. But exactly what are Private Exchanges? And how do you know what to look for when selecting one? What are the benefits of a Private Exchange and how can you determine if it would be the right approach for your business? To help you understand the role Private Exchanges can play in your overall benefits...
