Through a unique analysis of the ADP National Franchise Report®, Ahu shared insights about employment trends among franchises. A few highlights include: Employment growth among franchises is outpacing employment growth among small businesses overall. Franchises have grown at 2.6%, whereas small business and the overall national employment has grown at 1.4% and 2.0%, respectively. Is Your Company Considering Robotics? Find Out How To Get Started!

While robots aren’t likely to take over your job any time soon, it’s becoming more likely they’ll be taking over a lot of mundane individual tasks. The McKinsey® 2017 report Harnessing Automation for A Future that Works reveals that a small percentage of jobs—less than five percent globally—have the potential to become fully automated. However, 60 percent of all occupations have at least 30 percent of constituent tasks that could be automated. Robotics processing automation (RPA) is the use of software to carry out business processes that would normally be done by humans, with the goal of driving efficiencies and savings. RPA has been a significant game changer for organizations and can yield substantial operational benefits. By standardizing and simplifying processes, RPA can free employees from routine and repetitive administrative tasks so they can focus on more strategic pursuits. While many organizations are considering this technology and others are piloting it, it’s sometimes tough to figure out how to get started. Learn more by attending our ReImagine Series webinar...

The Next Stone in the Path: My Decades-Long Journey as a Woman in Technology

By Isabel Espina, VP of Enterprise Architecture, ADP and 2016 recipient of Anita Borg Institute “Woman of Vision” award “What’s it like being a woman in tech?” is a question I’m often asked. Throughout my career, the lack of women in STEM-oriented roles has always been very apparent. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women still account for only 25 percent of full-time workers in computer and mathematical occupations and 14 percent in architecture and engineering.1 When I started my career 30 years ago, this disparity was even more pronounced. I was working in operations for a bank after graduating with my degree in electrical engineering and computer science. Now, as I look back on my career and am celebrating my 20-year anniversary with ADP, I’m happy to say that there has been significant progress. Throughout the past two decades, ADP and I have evolved alongside each other as innovators. Since I was young, I gravitated towards science and math. I loved that these fields provided a problem...

Of the four types of wage garnishment studied, the highest rate was for child support, followed by “other” general garnishments, such as student debt and consumer loans, tax levy, and bankruptcy.  ...

SiliconAngle: ADP discovers development benefits of combining virtualization with cloud ‘bursts’

A recent article on discusses that agility means more than just speed. It also comes down to flexibility. The cloud provides that flexibility to companies by offering services on demand, and when a company needs more storage or compute, it’s there. When they don’t, those things go away. Combining virtualized infrastructure with the cloud creates an entirely new way of developing information technology products. Juan Gaviria, senior director of technical systems engineering at ADP spoke with host Stu Miniman and guest host Justin Warren of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE’s mobile livestreaming studio, during the VMworld conference in Las Vegas. They discussed how ADP uses the cloud and the company’s development environment. Gaviria explains that customers are turning to smartphones and other mobile devices, and because of this, ADP has refocused on mobile-first technologies.
