Inclusion Goes Beyond the Numbers: ADP Receives Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign 2017 Equality Index

Rita Mitjans, Chief Diversity & Corporate Social Responsibility Officer

Talking openly about diversity is important to creating an inclusive work environment. However, it holds little value if an organization doesn’t implement policies to put that dialogue into action. I’m proud to say that over the past several years, we have demonstrated our commitment to “walking the talk,” by creating workplace policies and a welcoming environment that enable LGBTQ employees to grow personally and professionally at ADP. Sponsoring business resource groups like ADP Pride serves to engage our LGBTQ employees and their allies in implementing inclusive practices like a voluntary self-identification program and awareness training. ADP Pride has also been instrumental in ensuring we have market-competitive benefits that attracts and retains top LGBTQ talent. For these reasons, ADP has once again received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2017 Corporate Equality Index — an honor we’ve received for the eighth consecutive year. The Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking standard on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees....

ADP Ranked 5th Largest Technology Employer in the NY Area

Crain’s New York Business published its annual list of the New York area’s largest “technology employers,” determined by number of local employees. ADP is ranked fifth on the list with more than 2,300 Associates in the area. We are proud to be recognized as a leading technology employer in the New York area. We believe this success is in part due to the culture we’ve created where our Associates are encouraged to think and innovate like an entrepreneurial startup. One way we’ve accomplished this is through the creation of our Innovation Labs, one of which resides in Chelsea, NY. These labs were designed to harness top tech talent and develop innovative, research-based solutions for our clients. To do that, we’ve hired a diverse Associate population including people from advertising, philosophy, anthropology, design and copywriting, backgrounds. In fact, 94% of all new hires at the ADP Innovation Lab are from different industries. We did this to help bring the “outside in” thinking that will encourage innovation and change. To learn...

Post-Election Possibilities: Changes to HR and Tax Compliance You May See

Many employers are still grappling with new compliance challenges enacted in recent years, and unresolved legislative priorities from past years may be brought to the forefront in the critical first year of the new administration. That begs the question – What should employers expect in this post-election environment? Which policy issues are likely to be considered and how might they affect employers? We reached out to ADP experts Ellen Feeney, Vice President and Counsel – Global Compliance, and Pete Isberg, Vice President, Government Relations, to ask them what they think employers can expect in the upcoming year. The Affordable Care Act was discussed at length in this past election cycle. What are some possible changes employers can expect? Ellen: While President-elect Trump campaigned on the promise that he’d repeal and replace the ACA, his stance has shifted somewhat post-election, and he seems open to the possibility of keeping some parts of the law. At this point, the ACA is tightly woven into our health care system as twenty million...

Thanking and Rewarding Your Employees Just Got Easier with the ADP Rewards Card

By Gary Lott, Division Vice President and General Manager of Added Value Services Everyone likes to be thanked or rewarded for a job well done. And what better time of year to give in to that impulse than during the holiday season, when a little extra spending money could make a big difference to an employee’s holiday shopping list. That’s why we’d like to introduce the new ADP® Rewards Card, a non-reloadable Visa® Rewards Card issued and serviced by MB Financial Bank, N.A. The card allows employers to bestow service awards for employee tenure; recognize high-level performance; acknowledge health and wellness milestones; encourage workplace safety best practices; salute the completion of training, or motivate employee and sales referrals. It can be loaded with non-wage related funds for a value between $10 and $1,000 and used for purchases everywhere Visa is accepted. It’s important to note that the ADP Rewards Card is not redeemable for cash, which is why you should only load non-wage related funds to the rewards card....

Are Your Employees In(Form)ed about Annual Reporting?

By Mary Schafer Help Quell Calls and Confusion with Effective Communications Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Applicable Large Employers (ALEs) with 50 or more full-time, including full-time equivalent employees, are subject to the employer shared responsibility provision and related IRS reporting requirements. This includes filing Forms 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS, and sending the Form 1095-C to their employees, to report information about the health insurance coverage offered under their employer-sponsored plans for the 2016 tax year annual reporting. So, as a large employer, you’ve likely made it through your first year of annual health care reporting and are starting the process all over again. Since this is only the second year your full-time employees will receive a Form 1095-C, a communications plan is key to your success. At a recent ADP webinar, when asked if they felt their company was ready to issue Forms1095-C to their employees by January 31, 2017, only 7-9% of respondents felt they were extremely prepared. While recently the IRS extended the...
