President, ADP TotalSource

Maria Black is President of ADP TotalSource®, the largest Professional Employer Organization (PEO) in the United States with more than 400,000 worksite employees.

ADP TotalSource provides HR outsourcing, payroll, benefits administration and overall human capital management (HCM) solutions to small and midsized U.S. businesses, which choose a PEO like ADP TotalSource to enable them to focus relentlessly on driving business success.

Maria also leads ADP Workforce Now® Comprehensive Services and ADP Resource businesses.  She is responsible for all aspects of the businesses, including marketing, strategy, service, operations, product, finance and HR.

Maria joined ADP in 1996 as a sales associate in Small Business Services and served in roles of increasing responsibility within the SBS sales function. She went on to assume leadership roles in client services and operations within TotalSource. Maria led the TotalSource Western Central Region as General Manager before moving to the Employer Services International (ESI) division, where she served as the General Manager for ADP United Kingdom. In this global role, she led the group’s growth and expanded ADP’s HCM offerings throughout Europe.

Maria also has made significant contributions in developing people and fostering leadership opportunities while sharing talent across the organization and she serves as Executive Sponsor for ADP Women In Leadership. She is a National Advisory Board Executive Committee Member for Enactus, formerly Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), an international non-profit organization that mobilizes teams of university students to solve specific problems across the globe while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations and Employer Services Assurance Corporation, as well as the Young Presidents Organization’s GlobalOne Chapter and the Women’s International Network. Maria has volunteered and championed local corporate social responsibility efforts with a number of charities throughout her tenure at ADP. She has a particular passion for history and charities that honor the sacrifices of war veterans and ensure that their legacies are recorded and retold to future generations. As such, she is executive sponsor of the ADP Veteran Empowerment project.

A native of Sweden, Maria holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and international affairs from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
