Protecting Your Business and People When Disaster Strikes

Protecting Your Business and People When Disaster Strikes

Natural disasters, like Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, can have devastating consequences that not only impact personal well-being and properties, but people’s businesses and work lives as well. While business owners’ immediate focus is often on rebuilding, reopening and maintaining customer relationships, it’s also important to ensure you retain your biggest business asset: your people. Assisting employees during stressful times, and helping to alleviate additional job-related worries, can go a long way toward nurturing the long-term trusting relationship that employees desire with their employers that keeps them happy and engaged. It’s important for business owners to consider: Unplanned absences and their impact on business...

ADP Signs on to CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion™

Rita Mitjans, Chief Diversity & Corporate Social Responsibility Officer

Having recently seen so many ADP associates join in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month and National Coming Out Day, I’m proud to say that ADP has truly made diversity and inclusion a cornerstone of our business and corporate culture. It’s built into our teams, our products and our supply chain – both because it helps us better serve our clients and aligns with our values. That’s why our CEO, Carlos Rodriguez, joined a coalition of 270 CEOs committing themselves and the organizations they lead to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In signing on to the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion™, ADP committed to continue cultivating a workplace that supports open dialogue on complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity and inclusion. We committed to implement and expand unconscious bias education. And, we committed to share best known – and unsuccessful – actions with other companies to learn from each other and tackle diversity and inclusion challenges facing workplaces across the country together. We recognize that joining...

Conquering the Challenges of a One-Person HR Team with Help from ADP®

We recently spoke with Tameka Brown, vice president of human resources for InFirst Federal Credit Union, about the challenges of being a one-person HR team. With help from ADP®, she was able to streamline many of her day-to-day tasks, allowing her to focus on strategic initiatives, like winning the war for talent. Here’s what she had to say about her experience partnering with ADP. “By using ADP to streamline various processes, I can focus on developing our talent, making sure they’re properly trained, holding side-by-side training sessions and coaching managers to lead their teams. Now that we have time to invest in achieving our strategic goal and initiatives, we’re able to take the money that we earn and give it back to the employees through bonuses and incentives, which helps to retain our top talent and keep them happy. And personally, ADP has helped me tremendously in my HR career. It has made my life so much better.” Check out the InFirst full story here. Share this:Click to email...

Growing the Global Franchise Industry

Did you know that ADP® serves thousands of franchise clients worldwide? As part of our commitment to the industry, our franchise channel is the founding sponsor of the International Franchise Association’s Franchise Action Network (FAN) and the well-known Franchisee of the Year award. ADP had a strong showing during the recent FAN annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute®, presented the keynote to the nearly 1,000 people in attendance. Through a unique analysis of the ADP National Franchise Report®, Ahu shared insights about employment trends among franchises. A few highlights include: Employment growth among franchises is outpacing employment growth among small businesses overall. Franchises have grown at 2.6%, whereas small business and the overall national employment has grown at 1.4% and 2.0%, respectively. Since the recession of 2008, franchises in the West and South have outperformed those located in the Northeast and Midwest. Recent trends suggest growth in all regions is beginning to converge. Regarding workforce composition, more females work...
