ADP Women in STEM Profile: Jennifer Cambern

By Heather Bussing – Part 3 in the ADP Women in STEM series Continuing our profiles of some of the many extraordinary women in STEM at ADP, we sat down with Jennifer Cambern, ADP’s Chief Product Owner and Vice President of Product Management for National Account Services. Jennifer has been a huge proponent of Pay Equity for Women and ADP’s Pay Equity Explorer. I’ve heard her speak several times about the issue, most recently at the HR Technology Conference’s Women in HR Tech sessions. Her intelligence, passion, technical expertise, and down to earth approach are always a delight to experience. Here’s a little bit more about Jennifer in her own words. How did you end up in STEM? I have always loved the Life Sciences. I even scored a perfect science score on my ACT test, which supplied funding for my first two years of University as a Botany major. The life sciences are still a source of inspiration. I’m an avid gardener and work to conserve nature through...

ADP Shares Five Steps to Become a Better Leader on Nasdaq’s TradeTalks

It’s that time of year when many companies are doing annual reviews and employees are thinking about their own performance as well as their relationship with their team and their boss. When you consider that nearly 50 percent of workers leave a company because they aren’t happy with their manager, now’s a good time to think about how to improve your leadership skills in order to retain your top talent. Jerome Gouvernel, Vice President and General Manager of ADP Ventures recently sat down with Jill Malandrino, Host of Nasdaq’s TradeTalks to share five steps to becoming a better leader. They include: Don’t take it personally, it’s not about you. What makes a leader successful is not a specific skill set but how well a leader’s skills fulfill the needs of those working around them. ADP and TempWorks Software Offer the ALINE Card to Clients with Temporary Employees and Help Solve Their Payroll Dilemma

Imagine you’re a business that frequently uses temporary employees. Think about the processes you go through to onboard a permanent employee and then – magnify it exponentially. Well, ADP® and TempWorks SoftwareTM have helped solve that problem thanks to the integration of the ALINE Card by ADP® with TempWorks’ back-office software. This integration gives employers a speedy, efficient, automated way to pay temporary staff who want to receive their wages on a paycard. In addition, once employees activate the ALINE Card, they can shop and pay bills in stores, by phone, online and in-apps, and also get cash at banks and ATMs. They also can use the ALINE Card to pay securely with a single touch using Apple Pay®.* “We are excited to offer this new integration for our clients to help facilitate payment for employees,” says David Dourgarian, CEO at TempWorks Software. “At TempWorks, we constantly seek new opportunities to automate back office processes to help our clients increase efficiency. ADP Women in STEM Profile: Soumaia Mawad

By Heather Bussing – Part 2 in the ADP Women in STEM series How does an engineer successfully manage a sales division and a family? Figure out what works and what doesn’t, then do more of the first. When Soumaia Mawad was starting her mechanical and electrical engineering program in college, she could not have imagined running a regional sales division for an HR technology company. But part of being a great engineer is being willing to test and try things until you find out what works best. Soumaia’s approach is simply this: See past your expectations; be open to possibilities you haven’t thought of; then test, evaluate, and be willing to do things differently. Her comprehension of the differences between how you understand things going in and what they really are was crystalized when her family immigrated to the United States from Egypt when she was almost 7. Soumaia and her older sister share the same birthday two years apart. Therefore, that same year, their parents introduced them...

Heritage Bank: Managing Growth with a Single, Integrated Platform

Founded in 1927, Heritage Bank, a leading community bank in the Pacific Northwest, is focused on helping its customers build their dreams in their local communities. Shannon Carson, assistant vice president and human resource information system (HRIS) officer for Heritage Bank, joined the company 12 years ago when the bank had about 150 employees. By 2014, as a result of mergers, acquisitions and organic growth, the employee base grew to about 800. Carson discusses the growing pains that accompanied that rapid growth, particularly around trying to scale employee processes and engagement, and how ADP Workforce Now® helped address those challenges. “When we do hire great employees, we don’t want to lose them. With ADP Workforce Now, we’re able to identify patterns or trends as to why people are leaving the company. We can also use that information to monitor levels of engagement.” To learn more about how Heritage Bank managed their rapid growth with a single, integrated platform from ADP, click here.
