At a news conference during a ribbon-cutting ceremony, ADP CEO Carlos Rodriguez praised the company’s partnership with state and city officials to create the kind of environment conducive to ADP’s ongoing growth. “I’m quite pleased with the collaboration between the State of Arizona, the City ofTucson and ADP that has helped us create these new jobs in Tucson and 1,500 additional new jobs in Tempe,” said Rodriguez. “ADP is all about helping our clients succeed, and I’m delighted that the people of Arizona will be playing key roles in helping us do that.” Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, joined company executives and associates during a ribbon-cutting celebration in Tucson earlier today. “I’m delighted that ADP has chosen to increase its presence in Tucson, a city...

Are you taking full advantage of this tax credit opportunity?

Are you taking full advantage of this tax credit opportunity?

Among the many incentives the federal government provides to U.S. businesses, the research and development (“R&D”) tax credit remains largely overlooked and underutilized, meaning companies may be missing out on claiming up to thousands of dollars of credits! And probably for good reason. The phrases “research and development” and “R&D” usually bring images of lab coats and microscopes to mind. However, the federal R&D tax credit laws define “research and development” so that it can take on a much broader meaning. In fact, you may now be able to recover a significant return on your investments that involve the improvement or development of manufacturing processes, software, products, techniques, and formulas. Unfortunately, many of these credits go unclaimed because companies are unaware they may now qualify for the credit, regardless of profitability, size, or industry – even though the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (“PATH”) Act of 2015 enables more companies to benefit in more ways than ever from this tax credit. The PATH Act expanded the applicability of the...

Workforce Quotes ADP Expert About ACA Compliance

Workforce has posted an article titled “Despite Repeal Efforts, ACA Compliance Moves Forward” that extensively quotes ADP SME Ellen Feeney, vice president, Counsel, Global Compliance, on the need for compliance with the current provisions of the Affordable Care Act while the incoming administration evaluates its next steps regarding the law. “Given the Republican sweep in the White House, Senate and House of Representatives, the new makeup of our government represents a potentially significant change not just for ACA, but for tax policy, Fair Labor Standards Act, pay equity and more,” [Feeney] said in an email. “First and foremost, it’s important to focus on facts vs. speculation. Change won’t happen overnight. The Affordable Care Act is the law, and will remain so until it’s not. Ten million people are getting subsidies through the marketplaces and 20 million total are insured through the public marketplaces. A wholesale replacement of the Affordable Care Act would require congressional action and would take time.” Read the entire article at Workforce. Share this:Click to email...

Get to Know Ian Sparrow, VP Global Payroll Strategy for Multinational Corporations at ADP

ADP’s Ian Sparrow was recently featured on the cover of the January issue of Global Payroll magazine. In the article, Sparrow discusses his views on the changing role of the global payroll professional and the latest trends in managing global payroll, including training, education and best practices in leadership. So how is the changing role of the global payroll professional is making an impact in the field? “Global payroll leaders should be spearheading the transition from a transactional environment to one focused on business transformation,” said Sparrow. “In fact, their roles are transforming along with the businesses they support. One of the most profound changes payroll professionals are encountering is the global scope of their roles. This is a trend we’re seeing not just in multinational companies, but in companies of all sizes. As global payroll professionals, their responsibility is not limited to considering ways just to reduce costs—it’s evolved into serving as a catalyst for change that brings savings, efficiency, and added value to the employee experience.” Read...
