Modest Regional Employment Gains in the Month of April

According to the ADP Regional Employment Report, in April we saw modest employment growth across all regions. Despite positive growth in the goods-producing sector last month, we saw a dip in employment in certain regions for these industries for April. The service-providing sector continued to perform well across the board. The ADP Regional Employment Report is produced by ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics, Inc. Here is a closer look at the regional numbers: California added 20,100 jobs Florida added 11,100 jobs Illinois added 3,100 jobs New Jersey added 5,300 jobs New York added 6,500 jobs Texas added 22,400 jobs Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Regional Employment Report measures the change in regional and state nonfarm private employment each month on a seasonally adjusted basis. Each region saw positive growth in almost every industry and both the goods-producing and service-producing sectors performed well.
