Would you believe in today’s day and age that it’s legal to fire employees simply because they are LGBT? That’s unfortunately the case in 28 U.S. states. As a company whose core business is to help our clients unlock the potential of their most critical asset – people – tying diversity to the business makes sense. At ADP, we’ve just wrapped up another celebratory LGBT pride month (June) and are excited to announce we’ve signed on to the Human Rights Campaign coalition of businesses committed to driving passage of the Equality Act proposed to the United States Congress. The Act is U.S. federal legislation that would provide the same basic protections to LGBT people as are provided to other protected groups under federal law. More than 60 of the largest businesses in the U.S. have joined the campaign.
