Regional employment grew steadily in April, according to the ADP Regional Employment Report. The service providing sector continued its strong growth with professional and business services adding the majority of jobs across all regions. The south posted the most gains with the west a close second. Looking at key states, Texas led the way in job growth where, if combined, professional and business services and natural resources, mining and construction added nearly half of all jobs in the state.

Here is a closer look at the regional numbers:
- California added 20,300 jobs
- Florida added 16,300 jobs
- Illinois added 7,000 jobs
- New Jersey added 3,500 jobs
- New York added 10,100 jobs
- Texas added 30,400 jobs
Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Regional Employment Report measures the change in regional and state nonfarm private employment each month on a seasonally adjusted basis.
