Florida is Red Hot as it Finishes 2017 with Record Job Numbers

The labor market was quite strong as we wrapped up 2017. In looking at the regions we saw significant growth in the service providing sectors. Despite experiencing its first loss of jobs in seven years in November, Florida rebounded nicely in December adding the most jobs the state has seen in years according to the ADP Regional Employment Report.

The ADP Regional Employment Report is produced by ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics, Inc.

Here is a closer look at the regional numbers:

  • California added 30,100 jobs
  • Florida added 35,100 jobs
  • Illinois added 8,100 jobs
  • New Jersey added 4,900 jobs
  • New York added 11,800 jobs
  • Texas added 26,500 jobs

Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Regional Employment Report measures the change in regional and state nonfarm private employment each month on a seasonally adjusted basis.
