Having recently seen so many ADP associates join in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month and National Coming Out Day, I’m proud to say that ADP has truly made diversity and inclusion a cornerstone of our business and corporate culture. It’s built into our teams, our products and our supply chain – both because it helps us better serve our clients and aligns with our values.
That’s why our CEO, Carlos Rodriguez, joined a coalition of 270 CEOs committing themselves and the organizations they lead to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In signing on to the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion™, ADP committed to continue cultivating a workplace that supports open dialogue on complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity and inclusion. We committed to implement and expand unconscious bias education. And, we committed to share best known – and unsuccessful – actions with other companies to learn from each other and tackle diversity and inclusion challenges facing workplaces across the country together.
We recognize that joining this coalition and signing the pledge is not enough without a strong plan for action. So, our leadership team identified one area of opportunity to tackle – ensuring that our senior leadership reflects the diverse backgrounds of our workforce. To address this opportunity, we established three-year diversity goals for women and minorities in executive leadership and introduced new scorecards for accountability. We regularly review our talent metrics, expanded the role and number of employee resource groups, and have initiated partnerships with nonprofit organizations focused on gender and ethnic diversity to support our talent pipeline. These actions will keep our leadership team accountable for bettering our workplace and ensuring a diverse and inclusive work environment for our associates and clients.
The CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion™ is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. There’s power in numbers, and I find it incredibly uplifting that such a strong coalition of CEOs recognizes the importance of this issue. I look forward to taking part in the continued learning and impact of this group.
