In September, the trade, transportation and utilities sector experienced a dip in hiring in several regions, according to the ADP Regional Employment Report. Additionally, hurricane’s Harvey and Irma interrupted the pattern of above-average economic growth we’ve seen recently in the South.
The ADP Regional Employment Report is produced by ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics, Inc.
Here is a closer look at the regional numbers:
- California added 25,500 jobs
- Florida added 16,200 jobs
- Illinois added 3,300 jobs
- New Jersey lost 600 jobs
- New York added 3,100 jobs
- Texas added 23,600 jobs
Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Regional Employment Report measures the change in regional and state nonfarm private employment each month on a seasonally adjusted basis.
