In August, the goods-producing sector saw its best performance in months with positive gains in natural resources, mining and construction, according to the ADP Regional Employment Report. Additionally, the service-providing sector continued its forward momentum while, on a state level, Texas and California lead in job gains.

- California added 26,300 jobs
- Florida added 18,700 jobs
- Illinois added 9,300 jobs
- New Jersey added 3,600 jobs
- New York added 12,200 jobs
- Texas added 30,500 jobs
